Devotion

Isaiah 25:1 (KJV)
25 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

It is very important to take time every day for devotional worship and prayer. The Lord speaks to us through his word about seeking him, and if we chose to seek him we will find him waiting. Let’s all share our prayers together…

Deuteronomy 4:29-31 (KJV)
29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.
30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
31 (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

A Daily Prayer

Here is a daily prayer that we thought was a wonderful way to start the day. Pray along with the narrator it will fill your soul, inspire you to be more, today and every day!

Catholic Prayer

The Divine Mercy Chaplet

Optional Opening Prayers
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls, and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Begin with the Our Father, the Hail Mary and the Apostle’s Creed:
Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Then, on the large bead before each decade:
Eternal Father,
I offer you the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity,
of Your Dearly Beloved Son,
Our Lord, Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins
and those of the whole world.

On the ten small beads of each decade, say:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Conclude with (Say 3 Times):
Holy God,
Holy Mighty One,
Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us
and on the whole world.

Optional Closing Prayer
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

John 4:24 (KJV)
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Oh My Jesus

O my Jesus,
forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell,
lead all souls to Heaven,
especially those in most need of thy mercy.

1 Chronicles 16:23-31 (KJV)
23 Sing unto the Lord, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.
24 Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.
25 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.
26 For all the gods of the people are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.
27 Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.
28 Give unto the Lord, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.
29 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice: and let men say among the nations, The Lord reigneth.

Nehemiah 9:5-6 (KJV)
5 Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless the Lord your God for ever and ever: and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.
6 Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

Prayer

Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, make me holy
Body of Christ, be my salvation
Blood of Christ, let me drink your wine
Water flowing from the side of Christ, wash me clean
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
Kind Jesus, hear my prayer
Hide me within your wounds
And keep me close to you
Defend me from the evil enemy
And call me at the hour of my death
To the fellowship of your saints
That I might sing your praise with them
for all eternity. Amen.

The Book of Psalms “The Holy Bible” Complete chapters 1 – 150 (Narrator Max McLean)

Here is something that you can listen to while you sleep. (Or while you are awake) I have found that if you listen to God's word while you sleep you can remain in the peace of the Spirit. I read somewhere that a Jewish Rabbi once said that praying the Psalms was a direct connection to God, that God would hear your words. Always enjoyable to listen to the Psalms...

Anim Zemirot – Shaina Ettel

Jewish Anim Zemirot – Translation by Shai Gluskin

1. Soothing songs and poems I weave because my soul longs for You.
2. My soul desires the shadow of your hand, to know every one of Your secrets.
3. Each time I speak of Your glory, my heart longs for Your love.
4. Therefore I will speak about You, about Your glories. Your name I shall honor with love songs.
5. I’ll tell of Your glory, though I have never seen You. I’ll give people images for You and names for You, but I do not even know You.
6. By the hand of Your prophets or through private counsel with Your worshippers, You provided images of the beauty and glory of Your power.
7. They named Your powerful deeds: "Your greatness," "Your strength."
8. They imagined You, but not as You really are. They tried to describe You according to Your deeds.
9. They made parables about You and provided a myriad of visions of You, yet here You are, One in all the different forms.
10. They envisioned You as an old man and as a young man, the hair on Your head as that of a man satisfied in days or just at his dawn.
11. Old on the day of judgment, and young at the battle front: a man of war with many hands.
12. You wear salvation as a hat; Salvation is Yours, exhibited by your holy right arm.
13. His curls are as black as a downpour at night, but only light reflects in the drops.
14. He will be glorified through me. He wants me. He is the crown of my desire.
15. Fine pure gold is my image for His head; on His forehead His glorious holy name is engraved.
16. With grace, honor, and a magnificent desire, His people wreath Him with a crown.
17. The locks of His hair are like a youth's; they are mounds of black curls.
18. A garden of justice is His greatest desire; it rises above His greatest joy.
19. When He holds His treasured people as a crown in His hand, we are like a royal turban, a sign of His desire.
20. He carries us all, each of us with a crown. He values us. He honors us.
21. He adorns Himself for me and I adorn myself for Him. He is close to me when I call.
22. Bright and red, His garment is red. He makes his way on the path from Edom.
23. He showed the teffilin knot [he was wearing (at the base of the back of his head)] to His humble one [Moses]; an image of Adonai, seen with his own eyes.
24. He accepts His people, adorning the humble and being adorned by them, as He dwells among their praises.
25. Your chief word is "truth"; You've called it out since the beginning. In each generation people interpret You and find meaning.
26. I humbly place before You this noise, my songs, so that my joy will draw near to You.
27. May my praise be a crown for Your head, my prayers be accepted like incense.
28. May the poor person's song be dear to You, like the songs that were offered with the sacrifices.
29. May my blessing rise up to You, the Sustainer, the one who stirs up [the status quo], giving birth to justice like [water from] a well [quenches thirst].
30. Please nod to acknowledge my blessing; take it for Yourself as You took from the incense of old.
31. I hope that these words were sweet; they came out of my longing for You.
